Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This safety rule requires a mechanical fix for a specific vintage aircraft engine part. Who it affects: Anyone installing a Gipsy Queen 70 series engine (a De Havilland piston engine) into an aircraft. What it requires: Before installation, you must modify the throttle bell crank pivot stud — the pivot pin that allows the throttle control lever to move and regulate engine power. Why it matters: This prevents the throttle mechanism from failing, which could cause a loss of engine power control during flight. The work must follow the technical instructions in either Document DH Mod. G2051 or ANO 106.1.7.6.5.10.
