Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Owners and maintainers of vintage De Havilland Gipsy Six 1, 1A, and 11 piston engines must ensure engines overhauled after 30 June 1972 incorporate specified safety modifications before reinstallation.

This mandatory Airworthiness Directive requires compliance with the R. Royce Gipsy TNS G No. 15 technical standard (Feb 1970) and its Appendix 2 (Jun 1963) to prevent returning older engines to service without critical safety updates.
