| Applicability: | Bombardier DHC-8 aircraft, Models 102, 103, 106, 301, 311, 314 and 315, with serial numbers 003 to 381; and, all Bombardier DHC-8 aircraft with DHC-8 retrofit kits listed in Bombardier Service Bulletin 8‑21‑ 68 as in force from time to time.Note 1: The words “as in force from time to time” refers to the most recent version of the SB. |

| Requirement: | Action in accordance with the technical requirements of Transport Canada AD CF‑94‑25R1, as in force from time to time. |
| Compliance: | Within 30 days after the commencement date of this AD, unless previously accomplished.Note 2: Previous compliance with the requirement in AD/DHC-8/40 constitutes compliance with the requirement in this AD. |
| This AD commences on 3 November 2017. | |
| Background: | Black thermal insulation blankets installed during production must be removed in accordance with AD/DHC-8/34 Amdt 2 and AD/DHC-8/38. However, the requirements of these Directives do not refer to black insulation blankets introduced through the installation of retrofit kits.Amendment 1 of this AD is issued to reference the latest revision of the Canadian AD and to add DHC-8 model 315 aircraft to the applicability section to align with the revised Canadian AD. |
