Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires operators of Bombardier (de Havilland/DHC‑8) Series 100 and 300 aeroplanes that haven’t incorporated modification 8/1970 to carry out the maintenance specified in de Havilland Service Bulletin A8‑24‑44 (or a later approved version) by 9 January 1993.

It responds to reported loosening and corrosion of DC feeder cable connections attributed to aluminium washers, affecting aircraft owners/operators and maintenance organisations and imposing parts, labour and aircraft‑downtime costs to correct the defect.
