AD/DHC-8/130 - Forward Baggage Translating Door Spring Assembly Bracket

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Bombardier DHC-8-400 series airplanes (serial numbers 4001 and 4003–4102) to inspect and, if necessary, repair or replace the forward baggage translating door spring assembly bracket in line with Transport Canada AD CF-2007-05 and Bombardier Service Bulletin 84‑52‑51 Rev A (or later). Compliance must be done within 1,000 flight hours of 2 August 2007. The rule aims to prevent bracket failure that could damage the door support beam and doorstop, risking depressurisation or loss of the door, and thus imposes maintenance time and parts costs on aircraft operators.
