AD/DHC-6/34 - Pilot Seats Safety Restraint Installations - Modification - CANCELLED

What this is: A cancellation notice for an old aircraft safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive or AD) that applied to de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter aeroplanes.

What it used to require: The original 1972 rule required owners to install upper torso restraints (shoulder harnesses) on pilot seats in these aircraft if they were certified before 1967.

What it does now: This document officially cancels that old rule effective 17 January 2008.

Why it matters: The old requirement hasn't disappeared entirely—it's just been moved to a newer, broader safety rule (AD/GENERAL/74 Amendment 1) that covers multiple aircraft types. If you own a Twin Otter, you still need to comply with the shoulder harness requirement, but you now follow the newer general rule instead of this specific one.
