Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This safety order (called an Airworthiness Directive) requires owners of specific De Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter aircraft to fix a potentially dangerous fuel line problem immediately.

Who is affected: Anyone operating DHC-3 Otter aeroplanes with serial numbers below 379.

The problem: "Fuel line chafing" means the fuel pipes are rubbing against other parts of the aircraft and wearing down, which could cause fuel leaks or fires.

What must be done: Operators must follow the repair instructions in De Havilland Canada Engineering Bulletin "O" No 67 straight away (the directive uses the term "forthwith," which means immediately).
