Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

The directive requires mandatory inspections of the elevator root rib (torque-tube attachment and doubler) on all De Havilland DHC‑2 Mk I/II/III aircraft—first within 100 hours after 31 Dec 1980 and thereafter every 400 hours—referencing De Havilland SB No. 2/30 for procedure.

Issued after reports of cracking, it affects owners/operators by adding recurring inspection workload and potential repair costs, relying on maintainers to follow the service bulletin.
