| Applicability: | All Canadian DHC-1 Chipmunk aircraft serial numbers 1 through 62 and 101 through 190. |

| Requirement: | Modify the tailplane to fuselage pickups in accordance with De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited Technical News Sheet C-30.Note: Transport Canada Directive CF-52-04 refers. |
| Compliance: | Within 30 hours time in service after the effective date unless previously accomplished. |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 12 August 2011. | |
| Background: | Cases have been reported of the tailplane rib attachment angles showing signs of cracking. Modification schemes depend on the condition of the attachment angles. |
