Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This rule requires owners/operators of De Havilland DHC‑1 Chipmunk aircraft to inspect the elevator‑trim tab control cable every 100 flight hours. Newer cables (<300 hrs) get a visual check around the trim drum; older cables (≥300 hrs) must be unwrapped and flexed to reveal broken wires, especially where the cable bends over the drum and at the locating peg. Failure can cause trim loss and reduced control. Alternative compliance via ANO 105.1.14.15.6.5 is allowed.
