AD/DHA-3/3 - Wing Engine Mount Cross Brace Tube - Modification - CANCELLED

What this is: This document cancels an old aircraft safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive) that applied to De Havilland DHA-3 Drover aeroplanes.

What the old rule required: Back in 1952, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority ordered owners to carry out a specific modification (called "DRO.24") to strengthen a metal tube in the wing engine mount. This prevented cracks from forming at the bend where the tube connects to the end plate.

Why it's being cancelled: The rule was emergency stuff back in 1952—planes had to be fixed immediately. By November 2008, every affected aircraft would have been modified decades ago, so the rule is now unnecessary. This is essentially housekeeping to remove outdated red tape.

Who this affects: Pretty much nobody today. The DHA-3 Drover is a rare vintage aircraft (a 1950s Australian-built plane), and any still flying would have had this fix done years ago.
