Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority requires all operators of DH114 (Heron) aeroplanes to follow BAe TNS CF‑20 Issue 1 to inspect and, and where necessary, remove or replace suspect flap‑to‑flap jack connecting pins within seven days of 7 December 1988.

Operators bear inspection, parts and labour costs and possible downtime; the directive targets a specific manufacturing defect after one pin caused an in‑flight asymmetric flap and is intended to preserve flight safety.
