AD/DH 89/2 - Aileron Differential Pulley - Inspection - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/DH 89/2) that applied to DH 89 Dragon Rapide aeroplanes.

What the original rule required: The directive (first issued before 1968) mandated that owners inspect the aileron differential pulleys — mechanical components that help control the aircraft's rolling motion — to verify they were correctly positioned. Compliance was required immediately when the rule was first introduced.

Why it is cancelled: Because the inspection was required forthwith decades ago, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) assumes all affected aircraft have already completed it. The authority no longer sees value in maintaining this specific directive.

Practical effect: Owners and operators of DH 89 Dragon Rapide aircraft are no longer legally required to perform this specific inspection under this directive.
