Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Operators of DH 84 Dragon biplanes with undercarriage struts part numbers AH46256A, 42656, AH42657, or 42657 must, every 500 flight hours, clean and polish the welded joints and perform a magnetic-particle inspection for cracks. Defective struts must be replaced and uncertain results referred to the CASA Regional Office.

This rule targets metal fatigue at welds to prevent landing-gear collapse during landing, reducing risk of catastrophic accidents.
