AD/DH 82/8 - Seat Restraint Installations - Modification - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old Airworthiness Directive (a mandatory safety rule issued by the aviation regulator) that required vintage DH 82 Tiger Moth biplanes to have upper torso restraints—essentially shoulder harnesses or seatbelts—installed if they were certified before 1967.

What has changed:

• The specific rule AD/DH 82/8 issued in 1972 is officially cancelled as of 17 January 2008.
• If you own or operate one of these aircraft, you no longer need to follow this particular document.

What you need to know: The requirement hasn't vanished entirely. It has been moved to a newer, more general directive called AD/GENERAL/74 Amendment 1. So while this specific Tiger Moth directive is dead, you must still comply with the replacement rule regarding seat restraints.
