AD/DH 60/2 - Seat Restraint Installations - Modification - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels a 1972 aviation safety rule about seatbelts in vintage biplanes.

What it does:

• Revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/DH 60/2, which applied to De Havilland DH 60 (Moth) Series aeroplanes
• The original rule required owners of these aircraft (certified before 1967) to install upper torso restraints—meaning shoulder harnesses or seatbelts that protect the upper body, not just lap belts

Why it matters: If you own one of these historic aircraft, you no longer need to follow this specific directive. Instead, you must comply with a newer, broader rule (AD/GENERAL/74 Amendment 1) that covers the same safety requirements across multiple aircraft types.

Key point: The cancellation took effect on 17 January 2008. This is essentially a housekeeping measure to remove redundant rules and consolidate them into a single, updated standard.
