Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This AD prohibits in‑flight fuel transfers between tanks on the listed DC‑4/C‑54 aircraft, requires a cockpit placard warning pilots, and obliges operators to amend operations manuals or adopt specified alternate standards. It affects owners/operators and flight crews of the named types. It matters because it removes an in‑flight fuel‑management option, imposing modest one‑off placard and administrative costs and potentially forcing changes to fuel planning, loading or operational practices.
