AD/DAUPHIN/98 - Vertical Gyro Unit Data Output - Operational Limitation/Procedure - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous aviation safety rule that applied to Eurocopter Dauphin helicopters (models SA 360 and SA 365).

What it does:

• Ends Airworthiness Directive AD/DAUPHIN/98, which previously required specific operating limits or procedures for the vertical gyro unit (a flight instrument that helps track aircraft orientation)
• Removes these Australian requirements effective 7 November 2009

Why it matters: The cancellation happens because the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued a new emergency safety rule (Emergency AD 2009-0241-E) that replaces the old Australian requirements. Owners and operators of these helicopters no longer need to follow the cancelled Australian directive but must comply with the new European standards instead.
