Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This document officially cancels an Australian aviation safety rule about hoist operator belt snap hooks on Eurocopter SA 360 and SA 365 Dauphin helicopters.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of these specific helicopter models.

What changed: The previous Australian requirement (AD/DAUPHIN/71) is no longer in force as of 9 February 2010. Instead, operators must now follow a European safety directive (EASA AD 2010-0014) that achieves the same safety outcome.

Why it matters: This streamlines compliance. Rather than following both Australian and European rules, operators only need to comply with the European standard, reducing duplication while maintaining safety standards for helicopter rescue and lifting operations.
