Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive forces operators of Eurocopter AS365 N/N1/N2/N3 helicopters fitted with SIREN cargo hooks (part AS-21-5-7) to inspect and carry out corrective actions in line with Eurocopter Alert Telex No. 05.00.41 to prevent inadvertent underslung-load release. It prescribes different actions depending on the hook amendment status and sets mandatory timing (e.g. before the next flight and before flights with underslung loads). Operators must perform and pay for the inspections/repairs; CASA issued it under CAR 1998 subreg 39.1(1).
