Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive orders owners/operators of certain Diamond DA40D aeroplanes (listed serial numbers in Applicability) to insert a Temporary Revision into the Aircraft Flight Manual and to inspect the FADEC wire harness in line with Diamond Mandatory Service Bulletin MSBD4-029. CASA issued it because an incorrect harness installation can short under some FADEC conditions and potentially cause an in-flight engine shutdown (Background). Operators pay for the inspection/repairs and must insert the AFM change before the next flight and complete the wiring inspection within 50 hours or by 31 March 2004 (Requirement/Compliance).
