Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This mandatory airworthiness directive for specific GE CT58 turbine engines requires maintenance personnel to inspect and retorque the pinion-gear bolts in the accessory drive gearbox per General Electric Service Bulletin A72-147 (or earlier AD/GE‑T/30).

It affects owners/operators of identified CT58-140-1 and CT58-140-2 engines (by serial number) and anyone holding accessory drive gearboxes P/N 5001T90G01/G02, including spares. The action prevents gearbox failure that could cause catastrophic engine damage or loss of aircraft control.
