Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

CASA has issued a mandatory Airworthiness Directive requiring owners/operators of Pacific Aerospace Cresco 08-600 aeroplanes to inspect the top cap of the main spar in the horizontal stabiliser per PACSB/CR/032 and to replace the spar cap before flight if any cracks are found.

The first inspection is due by 2,500 total flight hours or within 100 hours after 5 August 2004, then every 100 hours thereafter; the AD responds to real-world cracks that could lead to loss of control.
