This instrument mandates replacing two specific oil scavenge pump gears (P/N 635334 and 639388) on specified Teledyne Continental Motors TSIO‑520 series piston engines, following TCM Service Bulletin M90‑6. It affects aircraft owners/operators and maintenance organisations, must be done by 4 Oct 1990 or within 500 flight hours/at next access, and shifts direct costs and scheduling burdens to operators. The action reflects FAA advice that the integrity concern is limited to those part numbers.
