Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This directive requires Bombardier CL‑600 (Challenger) aeroplanes to have their landing‑gear electrical harnesses modified per Canadair Challenger Service Bulletin No. 600‑0159 before receiving an Australian Certificate of Airworthiness. It aims to prevent electromagnetic interference with gear proximity switches (which could affect braking). The mandate affects owners/operators and maintenance organisations, who bear the parts, labour and downtime costs and may face certification delays.
