Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires replacing certain electromagnetic‑interference (EMI) filters fitted to specified Bombardier CL‑600 (Challenger) aeroplanes and to spare CL‑600 fuel pumps, following Canadair service procedures. It affects operators, maintenance organisations and anyone installing spare pumps because the work must be done within a short compliance window (or before installation for spares) to reduce the risk of arcing inside fuel tanks. The stated purpose is to minimise fuel‑tank arcing after an incident where an EMI filter casing was burnt through (Background; Requirement; Compliance).
