Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires operators of Bombardier CL-600-1A11 aircraft serial Nos 1004–1085 to perform a special check and then modify the fire‑extinguisher squib wiring using Canadair Service Bulletin A600‑0581 (Requirement 1: check within 50 hours; Requirement 2: modify within 100 hours after 28 Dec 1989). It addresses a wiring configuration that can allow inadvertent cross‑connection of squibs so that extinguishing agent might be sent to the wrong engine. Operators must carry out and fund the work; the regulator mandates compliance and the manufacturer SB prescribes technical steps.

Applicability: All CL 600-1A11 aircraft serial No 1004 through 1085.

Requirement: 1. Perform a special check of the fire extinguisher system wiring in accordance with Canadair SB A600-0581.
