Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires operators of General Electric CF700 engines that contain turbine torque rings or compressor driveshafts identified in GE Service Bulletin (CF700) 72-155 to replace those specific parts. The regulator (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) mandates replacement procedures from the manufacturer because some parts were made from contaminated material. Operators must arrange and pay for the replacements within short service- or calendar-time limits to maintain airworthiness and avoid the risk of an uncontained engine failure.
