Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires operators of GE CF700-2C, -2D and -2D-2 engines to remove identified sixth- and seventh-stage compressor discs and to inspect listed first-stage discs for material properties; any discs failing inspection must be replaced. Operators must follow General Electric service alert procedures (or later approved revisions) and forward removed discs to GE. Actions must be completed within 10 flights after 17 March 1978, so operators pay for removals, replacements, inspections and shipping (Requirements 1–4; Compliance).
