Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This CASA Airworthiness Directive orders urgent inspections and corrective action on General Electric CF6‑80 high‑pressure turbine discs to prevent uncontained disc failures.

Aircraft operators using these engines must follow the inspection and repair requirements of FAA AD 2004‑04‑07. Compliance prevents catastrophic engine explosions that could damage airframes, fuel systems or flight controls and avert crashes or loss of life.
