Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This CASA Airworthiness Directive requires operators of aircraft with GE CF6-80A, CF6-80C2 and CF6-80E1 engines to amend their approved maintenance programs to incorporate mandatory inspections from FAA AD 2002-07-12 for life‑limited engine parts. The inspections aim to detect fatigue before catastrophic, uncontained failures can occur. Compliance was required within 30 days of 13 June 2002; this AD replaces the earlier AD/CF6/42.
