Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of General Electric CF34-3A1 and -3B1 engines to amend engine manual SEI‑756 (Chapter 5‑21‑00) to include the inspection requirements from FAA AD 2002-05-02 CORR, and to comply within 30 days of the effective date (3 Oct 2002). (Applicability; Requirement; Compliance)

CASA's delegate revoked the previous amendment and issued this AD to address the risk of critical life‑limited rotating part failures that could cause uncontained engine failure. The costs and actions fall on engine operators and maintenance organisations, who must update manuals and carry out the inspections.
