Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This is a safety directive for specific Cessna business jets. It requires the replacement of screws on wing cover plates for Cessna 500 Citation aircraft with serial numbers 500-0001 through 500-0038.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of early-model Cessna 500 Citation aircraft (serial numbers 0001 to 0038).

What it requires: The wing cover plate screws must be replaced before the aircraft can receive its certificate of airworthiness (the official approval that the plane is safe to fly).

Why it matters: The directive ensures potentially faulty or inadequate wing screws don't compromise the structural integrity of the aircraft. The technical details for the replacement are contained in the manufacturer’s Service Bulletin No. 57-2.
