AD/CESSNA 400/64 - Hydraulic Lines - Inspection - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old aircraft maintenance rule that applied to Cessna 400 series aeroplanes.

What the original rule required: Issued in 1979, the directive required owners to inspect hydraulic lines in the left wing leading edge within 100 hours of flying time after 28 February 1979. This was to address safety concerns identified by the manufacturer (Cessna Service Letter ME 78-42).

What this document does: It cancels the rule effective 25 September 2008. Because the compliance deadline passed nearly 30 years ago, all affected aircraft have already been inspected. The requirement is no longer needed and has been formally removed from the aviation safety rules.

Who is affected: Owners and operators of Cessna 400 series aircraft are no longer legally required to comply with this specific inspection (though they would have completed it decades ago).
