What this does: This document officially scraps an outdated safety inspection rule for Cessna 400 series aeroplanes.

The old rule: In 1973, Australia's aviation regulator required owners to inspect the fuel lines located inside the wing leading edge (the front part of the wing) for damage caused by rubbing against a flexible cooling duct. This was a safety measure to prevent fuel leaks.

Why it's being cancelled: Aircraft owners had to complete this inspection by 1 October 1973 — more than 35 years ago. Since every affected aircraft would have been inspected long ago, the rule is now redundant and is being removed from the books.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna 400 series aircraft (who no longer need to comply with this specific requirement).
