AD/CESSNA 400/27 - Front Seat Restraint Installations - Modification - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels an old aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/CESSNA 400/27) that required Cessna 400 series aircraft to have shoulder harnesses (upper torso restraints) installed on front seats.

What this means for aircraft owners:

• You no longer need to follow this specific directive
• The requirement has been moved to a newer, general directive (AD/GENERAL/74 Amendment 1) that covers multiple aircraft types
• If your aircraft was built before 1967, check the new general directive for current compliance rules regarding seat restraints

Background: The original 1971 rule mandated retrofitting shoulder harnesses on older Cessna 400 series planes. CASA cancelled this specific directive in January 2008 to consolidate the requirement into a broader regulation that applies across different aircraft models.
