Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This mandatory AD requires owners/operators of specified Cessna 400 series aircraft (see Cessna Service Letter ME71-1) to modify the rudder pedal torque tube per the manufacturer’s instructions.

Compliance timing depends on aircraft status as of 30 June 1971: aircraft with an internal rudder gust lock or high-time aircraft (>1,000 hours) must comply within 100 flight hours; low-time aircraft must comply before reaching 1,100 total hours. The change prevents rudder-control failure.
