Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: An Airworthiness Directive (AD) — a mandatory safety order issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. Think of it as a recall notice for aircraft, legally requiring owners to fix a specific safety defect.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna 414 aircraft with serial numbers 414-0001 through 414-0100 (but excluding serial number 414-0050).

What you must do: Install heatshields on the fuel lines. This protects the fuel lines from excessive heat, reducing the risk of fire.

Deadline: You must complete this work within 100 hours of flight time after 31 August 1971.

Technical reference: The installation must follow the instructions in Cessna Service Letter ME70-44, Subject No. 1.
