AD/CESSNA 340/4 Amdt 3 - Lower Wing Skin Rivets - CANCELLED

This document cancels a safety rule (Airworthiness Directive) that previously required owners of Cessna 340 series aircraft to periodically inspect and repair the lower wing skin rivets.

What it used to do:

• Mandated regular inspections and repairs according to Cessna Service Letter ME77-6.
• Required these actions to be completed before the aircraft could receive a Maintenance Release (the certificate that legally permits an aircraft to fly).

What has changed:

• As of 24 September 2009, the requirement is cancelled.
• The Civil Aviation Safety Authority determined that continuing to enforce this specific inspection through a mandatory directive was no longer justified.

Bottom line: If you own a Cessna 340, you no longer need to comply with this specific directive about wing rivets to get your aircraft's Maintenance Release.
