Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This is a mandatory safety inspection order for specific Cessna aircraft.

If you own or operate a Cessna 340A aeroplane with serial numbers between 340A0401 and 340A0499, you must have the upper inner cabin door handle and locking mechanism inspected within 100 hours of flight time after 30 September 1978.

The inspection must follow the procedures outlined in Cessna Service Letter ME78-21. This directive ensures the door locking system won't fail in flight—a failure that could cause the cabin to lose pressure or the door to open unexpectedly.
