Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires owners/operators of Cessna 340 aeroplanes (S/N 340-0001 to 340-0551) with strobe lights in the wing‑tip fuel tank nose cap to deactivate those strobe lights by fitting a switch guard, pulling and locking the circuit breaker, or an equivalent method, within 100 hours time‑in‑service after 30 July 1976. Certain strobe units listed in the applicability are exempt; Grimes P/N 30-0515-1 may be reactivated only after installation of specified cover plates per Cessna SL ME75-16. Other non-exempt units remain deactivated until the Secretary approves data showing they are explosion‑proof.
