AD/CESSNA 337/3 - Open Wire Aerial Installation - Modification - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels an obsolete aviation safety rule that applied to Cessna 337 series aircraft (twin-engine push-pull aeroplanes).

What the old rule required The original directive, issued in 1966, required owners to modify how open-wire radio aerials (antennas) were installed. The change prevented sideways forces (side loads) from damaging the aerial mast.

Why it is being cancelled All affected aircraft had to comply within 300 flying hours after August 1966. Because that deadline passed over 40 years ago, every plane has long since been modified. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has confirmed that the unsafe condition no longer exists, so the rule is unnecessary.

What this means Owners and operators of Cessna 337 aircraft no longer need to track this directive. The required modification should already be installed, and there is no ongoing compliance obligation.
