AD/CESSNA 337/10 - Front Seat Restraint Installations - Modification - CANCELLED

What this is: A cancellation notice for an aviation safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive or AD) that applied to specific Cessna aircraft.

What the old rule did: Originally issued in 1971, it required owners to install upper torso restraints (shoulder harnesses or seatbelts) in the front seats of Cessna 337 series aeroplanes that were certified before 1967.

What this notice does: It officially cancels that specific rule effective 17 January 2008.

Why it matters: The safety requirement hasn't disappeared—it's been moved. The old aircraft-specific rule has been replaced by a broader general directive (AD/GENERAL/74 Amendment 1) that covers this requirement across multiple aircraft types. This simplifies compliance by consolidating overlapping rules into one standard.

Who is affected: Owners, operators, and maintenance engineers working on Cessna 337 series aircraft (the twin-boom "push-pull" Skymaster).
