Owners and operators of Cessna 336 aeroplanes not modified per Cessna Service Letter 65-42 must have mechanics perform mandatory inspections of the rear engine cooling fan assembly at least every 100 flight hours. The rule requires dismantling and detailed inspection of the fan assembly for metal fatigue cracks and rebalancing or replacing parts as needed to prevent fan failure, engine overheating, or catastrophic engine damage.
