What this does

This document cancels an old aircraft safety rule that is no longer needed.

Background

In 1965, Australia issued an Airworthiness Directive (a mandatory safety rule for aircraft) requiring owners of Cessna 336 series aeroplanes to replace a light alloy fuel line with a fire-resistant one. The original fuel line posed a potential safety risk.

What's changed

This 2008 document cancels that 1965 directive entirely. The deadline to comply was 6 May 1965—over 40 years prior. By 2008, all affected aircraft would have already been modified, meaning the unsafe condition no longer exists and the rule has become redundant.
