AD/CESSNA 320/18 - Fuel Crossfeed Lines - Inspection and Modification

What this is: An Airworthiness Directive (AD) — a mandatory safety order issued under the Civil Aviation Regulations requiring specific maintenance on certain aircraft.

What it requires: Owners and operators must inspect and modify the fuel crossfeed lines (the pipes that let fuel flow between the left and right wing tanks) on specific Cessna 320 aircraft.

Which aircraft: Model 320 planes with serial numbers from 320D0001 to 320F0045, except four specific serial numbers: 310Q0644, 310Q0666, 310Q0678, and 310Q0692.

How to comply: Carry out the work according to Cessna technical document ME73-13 and Supplement 1. This must be done within 100 hours of flight time after 31 October 1973.

Why it matters: Fuel line failures can cause fuel leaks, engine failure, or fire. This directive ensures potentially defective crossfeed lines are identified and fixed before they cause accidents.
