Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires operators of specified Cessna 310 serial numbers with strobe lights in the wing‑tip fuel‑tank nose cap to deactivate those strobes (by guard, locked circuit breaker or similar). Certain Grimes assemblies may be reactivated after fitting specified cover plates per Cessna SL ME75‑16; all other non‑excepted strobes must remain deactivated until evidence they are explosion‑proof is submitted and approved by the Secretary. Claimed purpose: to ensure strobes are explosion‑proof. Costs fall on owners/operators (modification, maintenance or data submission) and final approval is at the Secretary’s discretion.
