Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this does: This is a mandatory safety instruction (called an Airworthiness Directive) requiring owners and operators of specific Cessna 310 aircraft models to regularly inspect the landing gear torque tubes.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna 310C, 310D, and 310F model aeroplanes.

What must be done: The landing gear torque tubes (metal components that help transfer force to raise and lower the landing gear) must be inspected at least every 100 hours of flight time (time in service).

Why it matters: This prevents potential landing gear failures caused by undetected cracks or wear in these critical structural components, which could lead to dangerous landing accidents.

Key details:

Compliance deadline: Every 100 hours of flight time
Technical reference: Follow the procedures in Cessna Service Letter No. 62-76
