Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this does: This safety directive mandates a specific wiring upgrade for auxiliary fuel pumps on certain Cessna aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Cessna T303 Crusader aeroplanes that were previously modified according to Cessna Service Bulletin MEB 88-3. Aircraft that never incorporated the original service bulletin are excluded.

What you must do: Ensure the aircraft meets the standards set out in Revision 1 of Cessna Service Bulletin MEB 88-3. This updates the original wiring modification to include additional necessary safety features.

When: The work must be completed prior to the aircraft's next Maintenance Release (safety certificate) being issued after 31 December 1989.

Why it matters: The original service bulletin was deemed insufficient to warrant a mandatory directive. This order ensures critical safety features in the revised bulletin are actually incorporated into modified aircraft to prevent potential fuel system failures.
