This Airworthiness Directive (AD) mandates a safety fix for specific Cessna T303 Crusader aircraft to prevent engine fires.

Who is affected? Owners and operators of 1982-model Cessna T303 Crusader aeroplanes with serial numbers T30300001 through T30300127 (the first 127 aircraft built).

What must be done? The fuel pump delivery hose on the left engine must be re-clamped or repositioned to ensure adequate clearance from the exhaust pipe. This is done following the manufacturer's instructions in Cessna Service Information Letter ME82-42.

Why does this matter? The manufacturer discovered these aircraft were built with insufficient space between a fuel hose and the hot exhaust pipe. If the hose touches the exhaust, it can wear through (a process called chafing) and leak fuel. Fuel spraying onto a hot exhaust creates a severe fire and explosion risk.

When must it be done? Within 100 hours of flight time after 30 November 1982.
